not that many good ones...
I'm curious as to which restaurants you have been to to make such a claim. What exactly are you seeking for standards and requirements for it to be considered good? Maybe after providing such details some of us will be bold enough to jump in.
I had dinner at Picnic about a month ago. And while the food was excellent, the service was pretty poor. They only had 2 young, inexperienced waiters for the whole place. Therefore, it took forever for the waiter to even get to us, they never checked in with us at all, waters never got refilled, meal came without silverware being replaced, no attention whatsoever was paid to us, things like this. For the price, which is steep, there must be better service. It's a shame because the food is really good.
Yes, sounds right. My friends had a wedding catered by Picnic last fall, and, even though the food was good (and expensive!) Picnic NEVER called afterward to follow up on how the event went, and if there were problems. (There were a couple of those).
I think it's imperative for a caterer to at least make a follow-up call to people that spent many thousands of dollars with them!
I had lunch with my husband last week at Picnic. There were only a few other tables occupied as it was late (1:30 PM). I had an onion tart which was delicious, as well as a salad. I was planning on ordering a ceasar salad, however I overheard the waiter say to the table near us..We're sorry, but we've run out of romaine lettuce. My husband, who is a caterer, laughed. How can you run our of lettuce. Send someone out to buy a few heads of lettuce at ShopRite, instead of not having a common item! It's not as if it was a specific type of truffle needed. But overall, the food was great. We plan to return for dinner one day.
