Help! Any good Vietnamese restaurants north of the Charles River?

I keep hearing about the great Vietnamese restaurants and sandwich shops in Dorchester, Quincy, and South of the Charles. How come, with all the great places to eat in Somerville, Cambridge, Watertown and Arlington we have a Vietnamese Desert?

Does Malden help you? Pho Hoa on Pleasant St. in the Square is very good.

I like Pho 'n Rice in Somerville, 'though I haven't been to the Dorchester places, so can't compare.

Pho 'n Rice is not as good as the Dorchester options, but it is actually quite good. Their pho has a very nice broth, substantial and fragrant. Last time I went the meat was a little too thick, but that only happened once (out of five or so times). I also like their bun. I think it is far better than Le's, which also can be okay in a pinch.

Not a whole lot on that side of the river, and with Pho House in Cambridge closing the other day, there is one less place to go for it.

Le's in Harvard Square is pretty good, though it's not the best in the Boston area, IMO. Maybe Pho #1 in Woburn?

I second Pho #1 in Woburn.

Lowell is north of the Charles. Plenty of good ones there.
