Burlington/Greensboro NC bed and breakfast and dinner options

rcburli Dec 2, 2010 08:10 AM

Heading through Burlington area or Greensboro and wonder about an excellent dinner option (any cuisine-no chains please--any $$$$) and perhaps a bed and breakfast.
Any thoughts in or near there would be appreciated.

You might want to look into Burke Manor in Gibsonville (between Burlington and Greensboro) for your B&B. I haven't stayed there, but I've heard good things from people who have. I've had lunch there a couple of times and the ambiance and service were quite good.

This site doesn't allow discussions of where to stay, but as far as food, in Burlington there are 3 nice restaurants, all with the same chef-owner, B. Christopher's, B's Bistro and Benjamin. I can't vouch for them personally, but I have heard and read good things. A little further afield is Saxapahaw General Store, a country store/gas station that is producing some seriously good food. It may a bit out of the way for you. In Greensboro, there are many options...you might want to do a search...Undercurrent, Saigon, Liberty Oak, Bert's Seafood Grill, Avenue, Southern Lights Bistro to name just a few.
