DH and I have been to many restaurants lately. These are 3 that we haven't been to (well, we were at Blowfish many years ago, but don't remember it). We have a date night on Saturday and are trying to figure out where to go - which of these 3 has the best food?
Thanks!

  1. Starfish by far has the best food. I really like the space but it is not fancy. Comfortable and low-key.

I second Starfish by a mile.

Just as JennaBean states it isn't fancy and has a very cozy feel.

I love the dynamic hint of saltiness in their oyster brew.

Get their Caesar! My fave in the city.

I haven't had one of those in ages - must drink one very soon!

      2. All I want to say is, 'right now, its OYSTER season'!!!!

blowfish, in my opinion blows. Snotty service, lame sushi, a bit too trendy for me to take it seriously (I suspect it is no longer the "in spot" it once was..) can't comment on Yuzu but do love Starfish for its unpretentious vibe, great oysters, amazing Guinness pour and decadent sticky toffee pudding..

        2. Yuzu and Starfish are two different kind of restaurant. Both are good, similar pricing. Yuzu's Japanese food and sushi is good but not cheap, one of the best in downtown area. Starfish is great for oyster.

          1. Starfish is Ocean Wise (certified sustainable by Vancouver Aquarium) so that is a bonus.
