My friend is studying for finals this week and is in desperate need of delicious, interesting, and unique study food.

Some of my ideas:

the steamed pork belly buns with hoison at momofuku ssäm bar
House special chicken from congee village
spicy oxtail soup from Pam real thai
fried chicken from ????
suckling pig from breslin/dbgb
etc

Any others?

this is pig out food, I'd go with the moist. well, I'd always go with the moist actually, the lean is pretty tasteless.

The Fried Crispy Chicken with Garlic at South China Garden is better than the House Special Chicken from Congee Village, so get that if you can.

Another excellent chicken dish is the Kung Bao Chicken from Grand Sichuan St Marks - provided that you ask them to make it extra spicy and crispy.

Any number of dishes from Xi'an Famous Foods would fit your description of "delicious, interesting, unique," and they're cheap, to boot! The Lamb Burger, Savory Lamb Noodles, Chang-an Spicy Tofu, Spicy & Tingly Lamb Face Salad, and Spicy & Tingly Beef Noodles are some of my favorites. Menu here: http://www.xianfoods.com/menu.php

Xian is amazing. Thanks for reminding me of that place. I like the Zha Jiang mein a lot.
