Wonderful - $25 Fixe Prixe Dinner
Excellent food at Lardon last night - really the best dinner we have had in Toronto in the past year. The prices were reasonable, even without the knock out fixed price option (three course including any entree for only $25.00). Great vegetarian option, delicious soup as well as a well prepared traditional braised lamb shank with lick-the-plate clean sides.
Service was exceptional, attentitve and informative - made the whole experience sparkle
A couple of quibbles (which would not prevent us from returning): First, the room is very pretty, but even the bright hues of the walls and art can't seem to warm up the room. And second, the wine list is bizarre - short and leaning toward particular grapes (out of only 6 whites one is a vinho verde, another a gewurtzraminer and a third a sweet reisling).
Check it out - it is more than worth nagivating the perpetual construction plaguing Roncesvalles Avenue.

So I take it you had "the harvest", the mushroom soup, .. and as you said, the lamb shank? I'm quite excited about this as the lamb shank itself is priced at $26, and the prix fixe is $25.. Of course, they could decrease the size of their portions, but .. good to know that the selection's still from their main menu. Would you know if the pastas are also applicable to the prix fixe?
What desserts did you guys have? I always look towards dessert on prix fixes ..
If it werent in Roncesvalles, I'd go in a heartbeat! Also, is parking okay around there?
