inexpensive park slope lunch tomorrow

Hello Brooklyn Hounds!
I'm having lunch with a friend in Park Slope... she asked me to pick a spot because I lived there years ago. I don't really know what's current. Here's the criteria: there must be some vegetarian options, and it should be as inexpensive as possible. It would be great to spend $15 each all told. If that's not realistic, we can creep up to $20, but we're both unemployed, so we're pinching pennies! Thanks!

  1. beirkraft has great sandwiches (im pretty sure there are veggie friendly options there)

i also had a brooklyn larder meatball sub recently that was pretty awesome (both of these are in the 10 dollar/slightly under 10 dollar range)

    1. Maybe one of the Vietnamese sandwich places, like Hanco's?

Also, I think Sette has a reasonable lunch deal, although I haven't been there for a while.

      1. Eating in well in Park Slope for that amount is Mission Impossible. Do you have unlimited Metrocards? If so I'd recommend heading out to nearby Sunset Park where your dollar will stretch much farther.

Ba Xuyen has some of the best banh mis in NY for about $4.25 (D train to 9th Ave/West End stop)

The pho at Nha Trang Palace is very good and at $5, perfect for your budget. (N train to 8th Ave. stop)

Tacos Matamoros has killer cemitas for $7. Big ones - you might have to skip dinner. Try the pollo asado. (R train to the 45th St. stop)

ETA - The auto link for Tacos Matamoros is giving the location of their sister restaurant - TM 2. For cemitas, I prefer the mothership. 4503 5th Avenue (near 45th St.)

        1. Jpan Sushi on 5th Avenue has your standard Japanese lunch specials. Friendly service and a nice environment for you and your friend to chat a while. Also AOC Bistro on 5th has recently started running lunch specials for about $7.95 but I've never tried it at lunch. Also a good spot to sit and chat in comfort.

          1. I think you could do Al Di La on the thrifty side for $15 pp and definitely for $20. Worth it if you've never been IMHO. So tasty.

Hanco's is a good call for Viet. sandwhiches. Cheap but a bit more in South Slope.

                ditto.

              2. Its too late for the OP but i dont know how i could forget El Pollo on 5th ave - super solid peruvian chicken and pretty consistently good sides (beans/rice/maduros) and its doable for considerably less than 15 pp.

Los Politos II would work too.
