Is this a trend now? To have a place that serves lunch right next to a place that serves dinner, separate entrances - but share the same kitchen. There's a place in Montclair like that, too.

Rob's serves lunch and dinner while Resto, next door, serves only dinner. The two restaurants are quite different in my opinion so I'm not quite sure what you are trying to say.

As for the OP's question, I have been to Rob's several times but have never had the cassoulet. However, I was there when a friend of mine had it and she thought it was very good. She did say though that the cassoulet at Sophie's Bistro in Somerset was better.

            >Rob's serves lunch and dinner while Resto, next door, serves only dinner

My point was that Rob's serves lunch and dinner while Resto serves only dinner, and it seems like this is a new restaurant trend. Like Blu in Montclair and the place next door.

              Hello Chowhounds
Full Disclosure-My name Robert Ubhaus and I am the Owner and Chef of Resto and Rob's Bistro
Just to clarify some remarks regarding my two restaurants
Resto serves Dinner only six nights week closed tuesday
Rob's Bistro serves Lunch Tues-Fri, Sunday Brunch, and Dinner six nights a week closed monday
They are two distinct restaurants with two separate kitchens, two separate staffs, two different phone numbers for reservations and two extremely different menus.
The only reason they are located directly next door to each other is because the space became available and I decided to jump on it. It might as well be five blocks away.
I encourage you all to check out our websites and visit us here at the restaurants
