Barnaby's Pizza

I just came into Chicago from Los Angeles. I have to say that Barnaby's is the best pizza I've had in the country. Thin crust, corn meal, spicy-sweet sauce. Order it well done, easy on the cheese. What is the consensus on thin crust chicago style pizza here? Does Barnaby's have any true competitors?

  1. For those of us who live in the area around Barnaby's in Northbrook, it has been a great favorite for many years. Mention it to my friends and they immediately mention how much they love that thin crust. That being said while it is our favorite thin pizza my preference is still Dues and Malnatis for pan pizza and Edwardos for stuffed pizza.

There is another thread somewhere here on this place. I grew up in Northbrook and remember it very well from high school. I'll have to give it a try when I'm back in the area.

    2. There are different kinds of thin crust pizzas here. A lot depends on what you like. For similar competition in the Barnaby's variety of "cracker" or "tavern" thin crust, you might wanna look into these places:
      Vito & Nick's
Villa Nova in BERWYN or STICKNEY, not the one in villa park

I'm sure there are plenty of other places, but Chicago has pizza joints everywhere.

          I really liked Barnaby's, but thought Pat's was sub-par.

        2. I think this link from "Slice" gives a very accurate view of Pizza in Chicago. Villa Nova is very good and Pat's is very good for thin crust

          1. I adore Barnaby's--specifically the crust. Pequod's is also really good in Lincoln Park and Morton Grove.
