Hotel Bar in Paris?
We will be in Paris right before Christmas and always enjoy having a drink at one of the luxury hotels in Paris just to soak in the atmosphere, even though we know the drinks are exorbitantly expensive. Which hotel bar is worth going to, both for people watching and for holiday decorations? We've been to the Georges V and The Ritz's bars.
TIA!

I like the bar of Hotel d'Aubusson in the 6th arr.
Also, Meurice and Hotel du Louvre.

The Meurice often has a piano player just outside the bar, and the bar menu is great (prices to match). Haven't been to the Bristol bar recently, but it would be one to check out if you are in that area.

Lenox Saint-Germain or Lenox-Montparnasse, Parigi?
Love the small cozy bar at the Lenox-Montparnasse, the other one must be somewhat similar, non?

I meant the St Germain Lenox, not that I have anything agianst the Montparnasse one. Just don't know it as well.
O and Fauchon, which Lenox do you mean?
Another frequent sighting of La Deneuve is in the Marama wonton place on rue St Jacques, LOL.

I didn't know there were two. I'm referring to the one on rue de l'Université. The twins who once owned it are long gone & with it the hotel's special quality but I was so happy to hear the bar is still going well...

Is the Lenox bar still so wonderful? We used to stay at the Lenox years ago & enjoyed that bar which had the very chic & casual ambience found only in Paris. Used to see Catherine Deneuve there often.
Also, to OP: the bar at the Plaza Athénée is worth a visit. Very plutocratic.

Another vote for Le Raphael. Luxe English-club atmosphere, rarely crowded, where the famous go when they want a littleprivacy.

The most wonderful Hotel Bar in Paris is the Defender of the Hotel du Louvre in the 1st arrondissement. Cosy, chic, great cocktails, excellent champagne, lots of imagination for the little free nibbles. Live jazz some of the nights. Really an 5* place

The Lutetia has a lovely bar, though their cigar room is another name for torture chamber.

Qingdao beer may seem an odd choice of drink to order at the Lutétia Bar, but when one considers that the Chinese Qing delegation who signed Qingdao away as a German concession was lodged there…
