3 days - Scottsdale Restaurant Recs?
Hi folks. Am in Scottsdale for an unexpected business trip from NYC. Am here until Thursday and looking for some good dinner recommendations. Open to anything ranging from divey but delicious to high end (and of course, still delicious!). Am staying at the Venetian but have a car. Thank you in advance!

I've stayed at the Venetian hotel in Las Vegas, but have never heard of a hotel by that name in Scottsdale. Can you clarify where you'll be located in Scottsdale? That's important because Scottsdale itself stretches 30 miles from top to bottom, and the Phoenix Metropolitan Area is even larger.

Ok -- I'n busted. I confess -- it's my husband who is in Scottsdale for sudden business -- and I've just clarified with him that he is indeed staying at the Phoenician, not the "Venetian" which is what I heard! Since I'm much more into food than he is and suspected that he might just stay in and order room service, I posted a Chowhound query in the hopes of directing him to good eats! But I should give him credit bec he apparently found and made his way to the Mission last night for what was apparently a delicious dinner! Thank you all for the recs! But if you have any more now that you know where he is, he (and I) are all ears!

I would search old town scottsdale on the board as that will be the area closest to you. Board favorites include fnb, the mission, and posh improvisational cuisine. All in the old town area (2 miles from you). All 3 of those are mid-high priced but very tasty and unique in their own ways.
FnB just received an award from Food and Wine as having one of the 10 best dishes in the country (buttered leeks with a fried egg I believe).
The Mission is latin inspired with great short rib tacos and margaritas.
Posh is "improvisational cuisine" which means you basically go in and cross off the types of food you dont like and choose the amount of courses you would like and get surprised from there.None of these are divey but 3 recs I think most people on the board would agree with. I would search the board for mexican food as well and go to a dive for that - it probably will be at least a 15 minute drive to get to a good hole in the wall mexican restaurant.
