I'm trying to make someTexas Red in Murray Hill...

I'm reminiscing about the Texas Chili Parlor in Austin.

Looking for local sources for

1) good place to get some "coarse ground" ground beef - I could always use some chuck roast, but I kinda like coarse ground.
2) dried chilis - like anchos or guajillos
3) chili powder

  1. Todaro Bros on 32 and 2nd has 2 of the 3 above.

      1. Last time I checked, you could get dried anchos and guajillos at Dual, down a few stairs on 1st Av. just south of 6th St. They certainly sell chili powder, too!
