Asheville NC Brews Cruise

A friend suggested that we take an organized "Brews Cruise" in Asheville for fun over the holidays. We're both from out of town but we're familiar with the downtown area. Has anyone done it? And is it significantly better than just pubcrawling around the ABC, Drunk Monk, the Green Man, and LAB?

And, as a secondary question, Ashevillian Beerizonians.... which downtown drinking spots do you prefer? We definitely want to make it back to LAB again, and I've yet to go to the *Thirsty* Monk, but we have a whole day at our disposal.

I'm sure this is long since past, but I'll answer anyway. I've not taken the Brews Cruise. I've heard great things about it, though.

Been to LAB as well. I thought it was good. I prefer a beer bar over a brewpub..
