Meridian Sports Bar Berkeley - open??

I'm looking for a place to meet a colleague for wine or coffee who is coming to Berkeley on BART in the late afternoon and later going to a meeting on University near Milvia.

I thought of Meridian but recalled that it closed. I'm wondering if anyone knows if it's re-opened?
or any other suggestions on University west of Shattuck.

Closed again. Liquor license sign in the window, new owner is Nawaab Restaurants & Hospitality Inc.

It's probably too late for this meeting, but the bar at Revival Bar and kitchen is nice, and they serve Blue Bottle coffee. Can't get much closer to BART, either. So maybe that will help for next time...

Great suggestion - and actually, it's where we went! And it was perfect.

I must say though it was lovely, and my martini was superb, I was a bit disappointed by the their notion of "happy hour" -- it was quite a limited definition of the term. And while the hostess tried to confine us to the bar area, the wait person was very gracious and happily seated us at a table.

Meridian was open during the World Series. I heard this is the 3rd ownership group.

re: Au Coqolet...the front definitely has a study hall/cafe vibe but the back can be okay, quiet, table service, brick wall....but nothing special.

Meridian was closed for remodeling, but as far as I can tell, it's been open since the beginning of football season. You could call them and check.
