substitute for medium dry sherry?

skimsogood Nov 29, 2010 12:09 PM

Hello all,

I am making egg drop soup to combat a cold and saw that one of the listed ingredients is medium dry sherry. Is there any way I can substitute this with aji-mirin or semi-dry white wine? I have both at home.

Thanks much!

I have used Sauterne and Marsala to substitute for Sherry in some dishes but I'm not certain if I'd use it in egg drop soup. Got any saki? Aji'Mirin is a bit too sweet for the task (IMO)
