Kitchener-Waterloo Cravings Mission
Hi everyone. I'm a student in Waterloo, don't know the area that well yet, and so am finding myself stranded in terms of good restaurants...I've had a build-up of cravings I haven't been able to satisfy, so a friend and I am planning to go on a mission to hit up all my cravings in one big go. Suggestions?
-dumplings (nice fried ones with soupy insides preferably!)
Gonna be a grease feast, but it's gotta get done!
- Never had them myself but, friends love the ones at sonny's on weber...also ish & chips on king
- Cameron seafood in Kitchener. Down past the Charles st bus station
There's a K.W thread here that has been going for a few years, I suggest starting there
ish & chips

As a former UW student, I can at least help with a couple :
Onion rings - "The Grill" (formerly Chill and Grill) - University and Phillip - mediocre (thick) burgers, but I remember the onion rings being huge and very good
Sushi - the best I had was AYCE at Ye's Sushi. One near Conestoga Mall, the other on the main Kitchener King strip, near Young/Queen on King.
Hope that helps!

Steer clear of Ye's Sushi. Food apart the ethics of the management are notoriously diabolical. For example, the tip system is screwy...straight to managers pocket I hear.
The horrible food, unless you get the grilled stuff and like overly ricey sushi.
Considering it's a AYCE, you wouldn't expect much, but it is quite bad even for an AYCE.
Yummyaki or Sushi 99 are better alternatives.
