Rumalees, Farmington Hills

MARISKANY Nov 27, 2010 07:31 AM

I tried the buffet at Rumalees last week and was very pleased with the quality and variety of the food. Their website suggests a reservation, but there were plenty of empty tables when I was there.

Thanks for the update Mariskany. How much did it cost? How was the buffet bread(s)? Were there any good lamb dishes?

I don't remember exactly but it was around $7 or $8. There was good nan, and two chicken dishes, chicken tikki masala and tandori chicken. There were 2 soups - lentil and tomato, some fried vegetable appetizers, rice, and a spinach dish. There was a desert which I did not try, along with tea. There was no lamb. The food was fresh, hot and very good. We were there around 12:15, and the other customers were Indian.

Sounds good. I better give this place another shot. :-)

They dropped the price a dollar or two from when they opened -- don't know when because I refused to patronize it because the price was ridiculous and I was underwhelmed by the food. I think things have improved, and if you ask for gulab jamun they might humor you and make some.
