Calgary Christmas Gift

Can anybody help me with a recommendation? I"m buying a Christmas gift for a couple living in Calgary (Late 40's, relaxed, fun). I'd like to give them a night out somewhere where there's good food. Could be a fabulous dinner, or dinner and a dance lesson, or an overnight at an inn within an hour of the city, with a meal included. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm from Ontario (mid 40,s, not relaxed, sort of fun) and don't know where to start.

We have a winner. My Calgary couple will be going to couples cooking class at the Cookbook Company! Thanks again, and Happy Holiday's

I was going to suggest Cookbooks Co and gift certificates for Vine & Dine: http://www.vineanddine.ca/

These are all very helpful - thank you! By the way - the budget is $200.

My restaurant recommendations for a terrific meal would be Rouge Restaurant, Capo Restaurant or The River Cafe. You can puchase gift certificates from all three, I think, or alternately, if you have a look at their menus and you know your friends well enough, you may even be able to pre-select and work with the restaurant. Or, you could do a tasting menu. I have also heard terrific things about the tasting menu at The Chef's Table at Kensington Inn. All of these have websites that you can have a look at. As far as dinner and dancing, I have no ideas, BUT if your friends are likely to enjoy cooking classes with a delicious meal after, The Cookbook Company has terrific classes throughout the year featuring sone of Calgary's best cooks and chefs. Their website is www.cookbookcooks.com

        Hope this helps

          Good list! I'd add Rush.

There are gift certificates at Costco that you can use at Rush - $79.00 for $100. Not sure if you can order these online, but I'm putting it out there for any locals that need to get gifts.

          Hello
What a generous and thoughtful gift! I love Calgary and although we don't live there, we go often enough to discover wonderful places. Here's a link to a Calgary Foodie page with restaurant reviews and recommendations. I hope this helps!
