Fifth Floor tasting menu
Trying to reserve for my birthday dinner in 3 weeks. I'm torn between Baker and Banker (I've been there before and liked it), Spruce (sounds interesting, but reservations are limited to 5:30 at this point) and Fifth Floor (Never been, but a la carte looks good). They (FF) have a $72 tasting menu which they don't describe on their web site. Anyone been there and had the tasting menu? What do you think?

I've had the tasting menu at Fifth Floor a couple of times, but the chef change means all bets are off. Personally I'd be somewhat nervous about scheduling an event dinner during a new chef's first month. Unless you have a very large party, I'd be surprised if you can't get a reservation at an A-list restaurant three weeks out. OpenTable should give you lots of options (though not Spruce, since they're not on OpenTable).

FF just got a new chef, so by the time of your dinner, the food may have changed a little.

I really liked the new chef's cooking at Chez Papa Resto, but that was a somewhat different concept.
