Thai Restaurants with Sticky Rice in Oakland

Cheesy Oysters Nov 24, 2010 01:59 PM

It's Thai before Thanksgiving and we all like sticky rice. Can anyone recommend a good Thai place that serves sticky rice as a side and not just dessert. Extra points if it's close to Montclair or Piedmont Ave.

Soi 4, according to their online menu. I'm about to order take-out from here for the first time, so no idea what it is like, though.

Definitely Champa Garden. From Montclair just head down Park Blvd.

Yeah I know Champa has sticky rice as well as the divey place near Mills but was hoping to try something new. I love Champa but mainly for their other stuff. We might end up there. Thanks

Though they have sticky rice it is not Thai.

Not even a little? The menu suggests there are Thai/Lao versions of several dishes.

True a little, but they do not do a great job of it in comparison with a fore mentioned Thai joints.

Ruen Pair and Chai Thai Noodle come to mind. As well as being 2 of the best in east bay.
