Indian or Mexican in Montrose for a Vegetarian

Good day Houston Chowhounds. I have some friends visiting from out of town and one is a vegetarian. I'll do some research myself, but am wondering what y'all would recommend for Mexican or Indian in the Montrose or near Montrose. TIA.

I second this - there's usually a vegetarian special or sampler plate and, frankly, I think Indika's vegetarian dishes are more outstanding then their meat dishes. Not cheap but unequalled for veggie dishes. Just a short stroll along Westheimer from Montrose.

I third Indika.

For Mexican, I've heard that Hugo's has a new vegetarian menu. Hugo's is a bit fancy though - not sure if that's the Mexican experience you were thinking of.

Also, don't feel limited to Indian and Mexican. Veggie options abound in the Montrose area. Let us know if your friends would like additional cuisines

Thanks. Coincidentally, I went with these same 2 friends to Indika on their last trip. We liked it (and may try it again), but still looking for other options.

I'll check out Hugo's menu for sure.
