The Best Chinese in Flemington, NJ?
I've been in the Flemington area officially a year now and I seem to strike out on Chinese Food. I haven't found any actual restaurants, it only seems like there are lousy take outs everywhere. Can somebody help me?

There's a newish place up in Branchburg Township, just past Old York Rd, called Eat'n East. Haven't been there but it was highly recommended when talking to someone about the new Indian restaurant right next door, Masala Art.
Their yellow pages ad lists Sushi, Thai, and Chinese.

Nice place with good service.
Went there with friends and I ordered the Pad Thai which came without any chile so I added some that they provided, which was very hot. Next time I'll order my food with an indication of "medium" spicy.
The guy who ordered the sushi was very satisified and it looked good. That might be the way to go with this place.

Sad to say that lousy Chinese food is about all Flemington has to offer. I don't know the names of any of them, but the three that we go to are as follows: on Main Street in Flemington, on Walter Foran Blvd, and on Route 202 South across from Copper Hill School. They are all just OK. There is a buffet sit-down Chinese restaurant in Flemington on Route 12 right at the entrance to the outlets. I have never been because it looks dingy and scary, but other people have told me they like it. If you go, please report back.

I have to reluctantly agree that China Moon may be the best Chinese (or Chinese-American) restaurant in Flemington. It's average at best but I've had pretty decent take out from this restaurant and the prices are definitely right.
If you're up for some authentic Chinese food, there is a place in Bridgewater called Fortune Cookies (or maybe it's Fortune Cookie) that may interest you.

re: Forklaw
Had dinner tonight at Fortune Cookies. Although the address is Bridgewater, it would be more accurately described as being in Raritan. I would venture to say that is the most authentic Chinese restaurant anywhere in this part of NJ. The decor is nothing to speak of but the food was very, very good and very spicy. We got several entrees to share and only one was disappointing (the scorched rice and squid). Will definitely be back.

re: flourgirl
Sure - we got the pan fried dumplings, the wood ear chicken, mongolian shrimp (very spicy), and the scorched rice with squid. As mentioned earlier, everything was great except the squid which was mushy and bland. We consider ourselved adventurous eaters, but at Fortune Cookie adventurous eating is taken to a new level. Frog, jellyfish, turtle, just to name a few of the Chinese delicacies offered. We played it safe!
