best bet in Fremont?

spromson Nov 23, 2010 06:26 AM

We're heading to the Niles Canyon Railway (37001 Mission Blvd) with some kids for an evening holiday train ride. I'm not familiar with the area and wondering where we should head for a quick dinner after. Any suggestions?

I like pizza & Bronco Billy's Pizza is pretty good - nothing fancy, but it's tasty
37651 Niles Blvd, Fremont, CA, 510-792-1070

Essanay Cafe 37533 Niles Blvd Fremont, CA 510-792-0112 - is a place I've been meaning to try, heard good things. Kristi Yamaguchi & her family went there for dinner after the holiday parade last Dec.

I say just go corporate and head over to Sweet Tomatoes on Paseo Parkway. It's cheap, delicious and healthy, though it lacks snob appeal.

Salang Pass is a great, kid-friendly Afghan restaurant. There are numerous mentions of the restaurant on these boards. I think they might still be on restaurant.com too.

What did you have in mind? The best bets in Fremont are "ethnic": Indian, Chinese and Afghan.

Any of the above! My kids are pretty adventurous eaters. We've had less experience with Afghan food so that might be interesting...but really anything.
