Looking for a place that has good food and live music for a birthday

Hello! I need your help!
I am looking for a place that is
1. non-pretentious; 2. has great food; 3. great live music; 4.good for a group; 5. Location can be: San Fernando Valley, Pasadena, Glendale, LA and anything surrounding those areas.
It is my one and only love's birthday and I want to create a a nice evening for him with his closest family and friends. He loves good, live music and good food. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I went to a cabaret-esq type show at The Vermont restaurant. They have a restaurant next door, or you can dine an watch the show. Right now they're running a production with all John Hughes tunes every Saturday. I checked it out with some friends (starts at 9pm I think), ordered many small plates, and great red wine. It was delightful!
