Bites Ritz Carlton Naples
The Naples Ritz has transformed their lobby area into a causal American tapas restaurant called Bites. All items are 2-3 pieces per serving and meant to be shared. Prices are moderate by Ritz standards with dishes averaging about $10. I think 5-6 plates would comfortably feed a couple. They offer an interesting selection of cocktails and wines by the glass.
They start you off with a great basket of home made breads and breadsticks.
4 of the "bites" were terrific, including grouper picatta, crispy sardines on tomato tart, bbq pork belly with cabbage, apple and horseradish, and our favorite-chicken livers with apples, onions, and bacon. Lobster rolls with brioche and remoulade had more mayo and brioche than lobster. If you want a great lobster roll, it can be found at Landsdowne Street in Bonita Springs. Duck cassoulet with foie gras croutons were my biggest disappointment. The croutons were actually toasts with a wonderful foie gras spread but the cassoulet itself was a bit dry with very little duck and not much flavor.
Dessert was delicious and clever. Chocolate cupcakes with devonshire ice cream actually included rich, moist, mini cupcakes with mini ice cream cones served on the side.
I agree with you it's got some terrific items, and I love the setting with great musicians.
While the lobster roll would not be recognized in Cape Cod, I've some favorites like lamb, tuna, mushrooms, and the awesome chicken livers, all at:
