Where can I get tamarind powder
I live in the Flatiron district and need tamarind powder for this Filipino soup dish. Does anyone know where I can get some (besides queens or new jersey) that's around that area?
Thanks

You're looking for sinigang sa sampaloc mix, usually made by Knorr or Mama Sita's. The Food Emporium at Union Square sometimes has it in the Asian foods section, otherwise Johnny's Air Mart in the East Village will have it as do several stores in Chinatown.
