The best barbecue caterer in the greater Los Angeles area
I'm hosting a party and looking for a caterer to do on-sight preparation, outdoors. They would bring their own setup (s) and cook throughout the party. I know you all have your favorites and I'm hoping to find the best for a group of foodies who're coming into town from various areas outside of Los Angeles.
I don't have a budget for this....I'm aiming for a barbecue party with fabulous, memorable food.
Thanks so much in advance.

the park's finest: filipino-style bbq. the smoked beef ribs, pork spare ribs, and chicken are unreal, even with just the dry rub. the sauce is not to be missed either. they go all the way with the side dishes, too, and the cornbread bibingka...i want some now.
bludso's: definitely the way to go for traditional barbecue. the best brisket and spare ribs in socal. the sauce, sides, and desserts are also a cut above the rest.

I had Park's Finest and wasn't impressed at all. Both the pork spare ribs and tri tip was dry and chewy.

since they only do catering, there's little way of knowing how consistent they are. both of us have only sampled it once, after all. there are lots of reviews on yelp, almost all of them very positive, even the ones from the event you went to (tnparty, right?). it's too bad they weren't able to make all of their barbecue as good as it can be.

Speak for yourself. They also do special events. I first tried them, I got the tri tip because they were out of ribs, at an event in Little Toyko.
The second time was a catered party and that's when I had the spare ribs.

tnparty *was* the event in little tokyo. there are a bunch of reviews on yelp from that event. if the meat really was consistently dry and chewy, the ratings would reflect that, but there are only a few low ratings. you're probably just having a streak of bad luck.

Talk to Aaron Robins at Boneyard Bistro in Sherman Oaks. He caters many BBQ parties on site.

But you may need a loan to afford his prices. One of the highest priced BBQ restaurants, I've ever been to.

But when you use a much better meat product to begin with, and order in a large quantity, the value is in line with most competitors.

This link goes to a page with nothing but wallpaper. What the . . . ?

Looks like they went under. If you look at the cached version http://webcache.googleusercontent.com... they had a nice web site. But they probably put up the wallpaper when the business ceased operations.
