Nice lunch on Tuesday near Porter Square or Davis Square?
My aged but game mother will be taking out my aged but game mother-in-law for lunch on Tuesday. Where should they go in the David Square/Porter Square area for a nice lunch, even with linen tablecloths perhaps?

Thanks for all the great suggestions! They ended up going to lunch at Foundry on Elm, which pleased them enough but not overly so, apparently. I still want to go there myself to try the spaetzle, but they don't offer that on the lunch menu.

Gran Gusto or the Elephant Walk are the only two that come to mind at the moment (I'm not sure about the linen situation at either). The Harvard Square area would increase the number of weekday lunch spots that have linens.

re: bear
They have a few spots in front, a lot behind the building, and a municipal lot across the street. Technically you are not supposed to park in the muni lot, as it's for the park, but I've never been ticketed / towed.
I'm still trying to think of other options .. on a weekend, Posto would be a nice option, but alas. Foundry on Elm isn't too casual, but I'd probably go to Gran Gusto for this occasion. Don't forget to have the ladies ask about fresh truffles to shave over their food, if they like em. Tis the season.

re: yumyum
N.B. The parking lot behind Gran Gusto is only available after 6pm.
N.T.Self: Eat at GG before 6pm.
When I went today (told ya), the only folks around were me, some seniors, and some family-of-seniors. I thought it was you, but you're looking at tomorrow.
