Looking for great pies.

And please don't say Costco. Want quality homemade, not processed.

Pumpkin pie at the Filling Station in Orange. The best pie crust we've ever had. Gorgeous thick buttery flaky crust and the pumpkin filling was excellent, not too sweet. This was recently added as a mainstay for all Thanksgiving moving forward. We converted my mother in law who never eats pumpkin pie.

Simple things Sandwich and Pie shop just opened in Weho. I haven't been but have friends who swear by the owner's pies from when she was selling them at the Silver Lake farmers' market.

The last time this question came up (not too long ago), someone recommended Suga Pies. Good/bad news is that they seem to be delivery only.

Bake & Broil in Long Beach.
Not homemade, but they make all their own baked goods on the premises. Haven't been in a few months so I don't know what their fresh fruit pie is at this time.

                      +1

I called about a week ago, and they said that they're done with fresh fruit pies for now, though they are offering seasonal pumpkin pies.

Jeez, I love Bake & Broil. That spot and Omelette & Waffle are two of favorite things in the LB area.

Susina makes great pies. At work we had an office competition to find the best apple pie in LA (don't ask, it really was for legit work purposes), and the Susina apple pie won hands down. Second place was the Apple Pan.
