Anyone know of a restaurant that does pan fried chicked.

What I've found at Southern/Soul places it way too tough and chrispy.

  1. The chicken and gravy at Toulouse Petit will have you rocking in the fetal position like a crack-head. Add to that their shrimp & grits and you'll be on a suicide watch when the restaurant is closed. If you want to maintain sanity, both Steelhead Diner and the Kingfish Cafe offer excellent chicken but neither is truly skillet fried but still very, very good.

I love good chicken! My last two experience at Toulouse Petit get mixed results. For dinner last week I tried the Pan Roasted half chicken with pan sauce and Bacon Lardons. The chicken was dry, even the dark meat, I didn't even finish the breast meat, very disappointing. A few weeks before, for lunch I had the gumbo with fried chicken. Now that was good!! Leper what actual chicken dish are you raving about?

      3. Crown Bar on 6th in Tacoma. Our favorite of pan fried, and we've tried many.

Where else have you found it?
(ie, is there a place closer to Seattle that has not quite as good pan fried chicken?)

        2. Marco Polo Lounge in Georgetown (south of downtown) has amazing fried chicken, but I don't know if it's pan-fried.

It's "broasted" (ie, deep fried under pressure, like KFC and many supermarkets)

And yeah, it's pretty good fried chicken.
