My favorite is Ocean Grill, behind the Museum on Columbus: great food and service, reasonably priced and loaded with families.

Good Enough to Eat is very good. I wouldn't go on a weekend, though, it's a zoo.
Nice Matin is also good; a little less casual. I wouldn't go there with a baby/little kid but it's fine for a kid who can sit through a reasonable length meal

My one experience with brunch at Good Enough to Eat was that the food was pretty mediocre and that the place was so packed you could barely move. I think it would have been maddening with a young child and stroller.

There is always Shake Shack right there, it certainly is both casual and kid-friendly, albeit a little crowded :)
Patsy's Pizza on 74th just east of Columbus is also very kid friendly and casual.

5 Napkin Burger on 84 and Bway is good; not much traditional brunch stuff, but they have some things. Mostly burgers and a very nice beer list.

The traditional response has always been Sarabeths. It's a little up-scale for 'kid-friendly', but it's the classic AMNH-area brunch. Read some reviews and make a call, but it's delicious.

I think of Calle Ocho as more of a boozy brunch spot (probably because of their "bottomless sangria" deal) rather than kid-friendly.
I actually think UWS isn't half bad as far as brunch goes. Sarabeth's, Nice Matin, Good Enough To Eat are all pretty good for brunch, as well as Popover Cafe (86th & Amsterdam.) I'd also add Cafe at Fairway Market and Barney Greengrass for something different. If you are a tourist, I think Barney Greengrass would be a great choice, very NYC. Other than that, I can't really say which one is my favorite (used to be the Neptune Room, RIP) but I like all of them for different reasons/dishes and I'd say all of them are pretty kid-friendly. There are an awful lot of stroller-pushing moms in UWS, and most of them like brunch!
