Vegetarian Ramen?
Just moved to the area from LA and am DESPERATE to find a decent vegetarian ramen. My joint in LA was Orochon Ramen -- where you could get amazing, spicy and vegetarian noodles while adding various ingredients to your dish. Is there any place like this in the Bay area?
Help!

Lunching at Daimo in Richmond yesterday, I noticed posters on the wall promoting ramen and then was handed a laminated menu page with ramen choices. In addition to tonkotsu, shoyu and seafood choices, there's also a vegetarian ramen. Again, I didn't try it so can't offer a personal taste test. But I did verify with the waitress that there's no meat used in making the broth. Interestingly, there was some kind of disclaimer on the illustrated menu that the photos might not be accurate.

Ryowa in Mountain View and Ringer Hut in San Jose both offer vegetarian ramen. I haven't tried either personally. I did see the version at Ryowa and the person I was with said that it was good with more character than a lot of veggie broths have. I think it had some roasted sesame in the soup base, but again, I didn't taste it.
