my daughter wants me to take her out for Alaskan King Crab for her birthday...
Where to go? I've heard of 'Catch'.... but it sounds a bit pricey...
Anyone got any good ideas?

$39 for $80 worht of food at Oceana. KC is on the menu.

Never been, never bought a coupon from them so read the fine print. You have 12 1/2 hours from this post to buy.

If cooking isn't for you, I've tried it at Rics Grill downtown (8th street; 15th ave SW). It was pretty decent and cut into managable size pieces and split a bit for easy shell removal. As I recall the price was decent (I forget how much but definately going to be cheaper than Catch).

If you are on a budget you can buy some and cook it up your self. It is so easy. With the money you save you can spend it on a nice cake or something.

They often have king crab at Costco this time of year. It's pretty good too. We had it for Christmas Eve dinner last year.

I second Costco, it's probably the best deal in town and I've never seen such huge KK legs anywhere else. It's pre-cooked and all you do is heat it up and make the butter on the side. Easy peasy.

However, they only offer it during their seafood road shows, so i would look it up on the Costco Canada website or phone your local store for the next road show.

Update: You can actually order it online on their website. The URL is way too long for me to c and paste, but just type Alaskan King Crab into the search box (make sure it's Costco.ca) I think it 's probably more expensive than going to the store itself, but if there's not a road show soon it may be a good option. Again, their legs are huge.
