We are coming from New York and need a place in or near Emeryville (1300 54th St) for a business lunch with GREAT food...fresh local ingredients coule be California, Mediteranean, etc but really good.

Is Oakland too far?

  1. Riva Cucina's probably the closest place that fits the bill.

    1. How far is too far for you? Ten-fifteen minutes into either Oakland or Berkeley will open up a lot of choices for you.

Thanks. 10 minutes away is fine!

      2. Oakland is not too far. The greater limitation is lunch, rather than dinner. There is good food to be had at lunch (Wood Tavern, for example), but not much that I'd call creative. At dinner, you would hit the mark with Commis, but at lunch you'll be in the land of tasty but hardly unusual.

          What about 900 Grayson?

Try B in Old Oakland. Really cute area: http://www.boakland.com/

          2. I've only had dinner there. Any thoughts on Bucci's?

Love Bucci's for creative comfort food and pizzas (try the carbonara pie).
