Lime Leaf - Hendersonville, NC

ThaiNut, this one goes out to you....have you tried Lime Leaf yet?? It's in the old La Riserva location on Main St. We tried it during the Small Plate Crawl a couple weeks ago and everything we had was good, but wanted your take on "authentic" or if you thought it was any different or better than other Thai options in the area.

  1. Scirocco,

Yes, we tried it a couple of weeks ago. As you know, I expected it to be not very good and not at all authentic but we were pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent and authentic. The waitress we had was Cambodian/American and she reported that they did indeed have a Thai chef in the kitchen.

My favorite for Thai in H'ville is still Ling's Bistro but that is partially because the owners are friends of ours. However, based on the one visit, I can't say a bad thing about Lime Leaf.

thanks and good to know! Yes, we like Ling's too (only miss I've had there was the masala, not Thai of course, so maybe I should stick to Thai).

I'm looking forward to trying some more dishes at Lime Leaf. We only did ones off the crawl menu when we were there which were fairly standard offerings, although I was pleasantly surprised that the calamari was cooked correctly. Always a gamble in these parts. Also staff was helpful and the owner (or manager?) spent quality time checking on customers.
