Lunch at Old Vine Cafe, Tustin

Had lunch here yesterday. Cute place at The Camp, a very different shopping square and enjoyed it but I could have ordered better. We both chose the 2 course lunch for $20. I had the Crispy Blue which was a salad of greens, sliced grape tomatoes and crisp fried onion strings with a blue cheese dressing. It was tasty but there were so many onion strings piled on that it was hard to find any greens! Daughter had the squash bisque which was delishous. For the main course I tried the porcini mac & cheese. It was too rich and I tasted porcini all afternoon. Daughter on the other had chose the fresh mozzarella & tomato panino and it was wonderful. Best part of my meal was the cheesecake, a thin cheesecake served over squiggles of strawberry couliss with some candied grapes. All in all, a fun place, but I'll order better next time.

I'm a fan of OVC but, I'm surprised at their 2 courses for $20 when both Marche Moderne and Charlie Palmer, right across the street, are offering 3 courses for the same $20. You did say that you had cheesecake however. Was that at an extra cost or, did you mean 3 courses?

OVC has the 3-course for $20, which includes the thin, very delicious cheesecake.

I would highly recommend the burrata caprese when ordering though...I'm presently addicted to it. =)

EDIT: here's their lunch menu.... http://oldvinecafe.com/lunch.php
