A night out without the kids. Where to go?

Husband and I want to go out for dinner without the kids one night. We've been to so many places in and around DC, but I can't for the life of me decide where to go this time. I am open to any and all suggestions. Parameters - a nice evening out, where we have to get at least a little dressed up. That's it. Would like it to be within an hour's drive of DC.

Many thanks!

  1. Our two faves are Blacksalt or Lightfoot in Leesburg. For either let the server help you explore specials, etc. Blacksalt probably has the edge, though Lightfoot has a place in our heart.

    1. Le auberge chez francois or 2941 are both excellent restaurants that will fit your bill for a special night out without the kids within an hour of DC where you can dress up

      1. Are there any price restraints?

Blacksalt is a great recommendation. A few other places you might consider: Corduroy, PS7, Restaurant Eve, or Bibiana.

        PS7 Restaurant
        777 I Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001

        Restaurant Eve
110 South Pitt Street, Alexandria, VA 22314

1100 New York Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20005

        1. You may want to try Sushi Taro in Dupont Circle. And, if needed, your kids' aunt may be able to babysit. :-
