  1. J Pistone makes it. The loaves are small. I think they may intend for it to be one (very generous) serving. I also think they only make it one day a week. Maybe two days?

I like lots of stuff at J Pistone: cookies, buckeyes, meatloaf... And this brioche. It's been a long time since I've had it. I may get some soon. After I figure out the schedule, of course.

    1. There is a stall at the market that sells great brioche, both in a large form and as muffins, but I cannot find a map.

Breadsmith in Fairlawn and Lakewood make a very good brioche. Did you call Whole Foods or the Stone Oven bakery at Eaton Square? Giant Eagle has a surprisingly good bakery for a chain grocery.

thanks for the tips. i tried whole foods, and it was pretty blah. someone else suggested zoss away from the board. I'll let you all know how it turns out.

regarding blackbird, i asked and they said "Christmas time only, special order only, if we do it at all"

gah. My bad. I thought it was on their regular menu. I don't eat them so I was just naming a bakery I knew and liked which offers a variety of products.

Have you looked at all the bakery stands at the west side market? Michelle's, Christopher's, etc.
