Summerhill Market - Anniversary Sale on Now

millygirl Nov 18, 2010 11:08 AM

We were at Summerhill Market this afternoon and they are celebrating their 57th year in business with lots of markdowns. I mean huge discounts on many items.

They also have a nice complimentary table set up of veggies and dips.

Whoa baby, does huge discount = almost regular retail? HA. Is it just today? This week?

        Now, now....be nice.

Let me just say that my favourite biscotti imported from Italy that normally retail for $16 (I know, leave me alone) are on sale for $7. Lots of stuff at what seemed like half off. Now thinking to myself maybe these items are 57% off in recognition of anniversary?? I believe sale is on until Nov. 20th.

I found the deals to be really great as well!
          1/2 off summerhill chili.
1/2 off large fruit tray/veggie tray.
1.00 off fage yogurt, and other imported items also marked down.

The cashier told me the sales will change everyday during the sale which I believes ends Saturday.
The free samples throughout the store were also a nice touch :)

Okay millygirl, you're talking to the person who just popped $8 a pop for some (spectacular) hot chocolate at La Maison du Chocolat in New York for her little kids. I was just teasing (and in truth, some of SM's basic grocery staples are actually well-priced - yes, I did just say that). Anyway, sounds like the sale is worth checking out - thanks for the heads up.

Hey, has anyone tried SM's rotisserie chicken? I don't think if I've ever tried it.

I've had the rotisserie chicken.... its just okay...

I was at the sale on Wednesday, and got the BBQ half chicken, which was on for 3.99 I think, and it was really good. Still partial to the mac and cheese and pot pies though....

I just picked up one of their bbq chickens (what I had in mind when I said rotisserie - do they actually have both?) - sadly, not on sale today.

Thanks for the heads up millygirl - the store was pretty crowded but tons of stuff was on sale. I had fun looking for the "lipstick kiss" signs that indicated anniversary pricing and managed to stuff 6 of 7 bags with sale only items - total bill was $140. Some of the deals were great - Rao's pasta sauces for $6.49 (normally $10-$12). I didn't buy the prepared bbq'd ribs but at $4.99/rack, they were flying off the shelves. Sale ends tomorrow.

Oh, and I'm not a pot pie kind of girl but others rave about them - the large chicken pot pies were on sale for $4.99 each today (limit of 4).
