ChiDogO's? Anyone been yet?

I just heard about this place which is supposed to have Chicago style dogs and beef subs. Has anyone been yet? I'd love a review.

It's on U and 14th. I liked the Chicago hotdogs a lot but found the beef in the Italian beef sandwiches to be a bit dry. I liked the hot peppers in the beef sandwich though. The fries looked good but I didn't try them.

Don't forget Windy City Redhots. They've been there for over a year. Great Italian Beefs (the guy just moved from Chicago before opening up). Not in DC, but in the area.

Is that the one out in Leesburg? I haven't had a chance to get out there yet!

Yes - apparently he has two. I've only ever been to the one East of Leesburg on Rt 7. I think he does some hours at each place. At any rate, every time I've gone, the owner is there (though now he usually has one or two helpers as well).

Been out to sterling area (where a food truck does a good chi dog).

If this is half as good as the stuff I used to get in chicago, I'm in.

Looks like they are preparing for an opening on Monday....

They still have 1 more inspection to go before it opens - Look for Thanksgiving week or week after...assuming that goes well.....

Funny trend indeed. First we get loaded up with $9 to $15 burger joint options. Now I think we will see the same price range on hot-dogs, or sorry, quality sausage's......
There was a place in San Francisco, Rosamunde Sausage Grill, that I think would do great here.

oh! i loved rosamunde. even their vegetarian sausage was good. somewhat dry (like many veg sauces) but well-flavoured and good bread. i wish they would open one up in dc.

their menu was really nothing like chidogo's, though. and i remain skeptical of the latter after viewing their website.
