Buying Bagels in Wilmington NC

Perhaps I'm just slow but I just learned that Ken's on Oleander has changed hands yet again and no longer makes the same quality bagels. Recipes have changed significantly. Also found out that Cafe Brava bakes off frozen bagels. Oh dear. Bagel Basket it's going to have a monopoly on that side of town! Manhattan bagel is a chain so I spend my money locally when possible...

Did everybody else know that all went down like that though?

The best place for bagels is Empire Bagel on Market Street (around 8300). These are real NY bagels, not the fancy non-authentic kind. Try them, you'll like them.
