Recommendations for Paris

  • 4

Hello!
I am brand new to the forum but am so impressed by the knowledge of the chowhound members. My husband and I will be in Paris December 15-22. We are looking for restaurants where we can spend 150e or less for two per night with wine, but of course great food is the first priority. The list we have put together includes: Frenchie, Chez l'Ami Jean, LaGaigne, LaBigarrade, Thoumieux, Le Petrelle, Le Miroir, Itineraires, Moustache, Les Fables de la Fontaine, Josephine Chez Dumonet, and MBC.

I was hoping to get some comments on any of these choices and and to see if there are any other favorite suggestions for us to consider. We are going to celebrate my upcoming 50th and would like to make it memorable .

Thank you !

  1. You have obviously done your homework; that is a fine selection indeed. Everyone has their own taste, but my top 4 of the ones you listed are Chez Dumonet, Gaigne, Fables and Moustache.

    1. I love your list and would come with you if I could only eat that much. From my experience, less is more...much more!* My suggestion is that you might wish to work in some less formal meals as otherwise the experience will be overwhelming. Also, you will be missing so very much of Paris. And, please consider some of these places for lunch so as to reduce your costs.

      1. At least for Frenchie and La Bigarrade, call right away to see if you can reserve.

        1. I too agree this is a well researched and fine list.
I would knock Itineraires down a notch d/t inconsistency.
