I live in the Northern Evanston and am looking for good Asian food in the northern Evanston/Wilmette area. I enjoy all types of Asian food.

Thanks in advance for your recommendation.

Thai - Thai Sookdee in Evanston is my favorite.

Indian/Nepalese - Mount Everest in downtown Evanston.

One of our favorites is Hana Bistro. Wide range of very nice food, from sushi to Mongolian. Attentive service, distinctly non-mall ambiance.

In addition to the cuisines listed, here are some goodies in the vicinity:

Indonesian - Angin Mamiri on Touhy in West Rogers Park

Vietnamese - Hoanh Long at the trisection of Lincoln/Kimball/McCormick

Korean - honestly, anywhere in the towns due west (Glenview, Skokie, Morton Grove) or in the part of the city bordering Lincolnwood (dunno the specific neighborhood?)

Alas, the only decent Chinese food in these parts is Mei Shung in the city limits (Edgewater) - unless you like bastardized kosher stuff.

Woo, I take back the dearth of quality Chinese assessment.

Cafe 527 in Evanston has some MAD good Taiwanese beef soup and pork-rice!

Add my recommendation for Akai Hana and Ruby of Siam. My wife and I have eaten at both restaurants more times than I can remember and we still love going back for more.

For Thai - I would recommend Thai Sookdee and Siam Splendoor in Evanston and Ruby of Siam in Skokie.

For A mix of cuisines Joy Yee in evanston is also very good

For Japanes I like Akai Hana in Willmette, Sea Ranch in Evanston which has a $20 all you can eat special and if you are willing to go a bit further north there is Kamehachi in Northbrook IMO one of the best in the Chicago area

Completely second the Ruby of Siam and Siam Splendor suggestions. They actually used to both be Ruby of Siam, and have a third location downtown on Washington near Lasalle.
