Best molcajete

We have cheapy fake molcajetes at our local supermercados, but I was thinking of ordering a real volcanic rock one from online, as they are superior and last forever and ever. I have seen a few on amazon.com and Williams Sonoma. I want this type of mortar and pestle cuz it is the most useful for me. However, I can't find one that I can tell for certain that it has a deep, wide bowl. Most of them seem to be fairly shallow, which will not help me grinding spices or pastes. Does anyone have a good source for a real volcanic rock/basalt molcajete (or suggestion for a similar product...I had some Malay friends who I recall had something similar to a volcanic molcajete but I wouldn't have a clue what that is called or where to find one in the US)...must have deep wide bowl. I want the rough rock texture and am not interested in wood, metal, or marble options.

Sorry but I got mine in Mexico.

Just remember to "season" it first.

Here's a 9 inch molcajete on sale at a greatly reduced price. Says it's lava rock.

But is it the same size? No. It's an inch in diameter smaller. That can prove meaningful.

          Crate and Barrel carries them.
