apple pie for thanksgiving -- center city or kop

I live near Rittenhouse Sq, and I'm putting together Thanksgiving dinner for my dad and sister in King of Prussia this year. I need a decent apple pie for dessert. I no longer bake pies because my crust never turns out right, but I'm nearly always disappointed by commercial pies, which often commit the cardinal sins of being too sweet and having no lemon. My dad, on the other hand, is fine with the gummy cardboard pies from Acme and will reject anything too "gourmet." Can anybody help us find something we might both enjoy?

Believe it or not, Costco has an excellent Apple pie, my mom makes a excellent apple pie, so she is hard to please and she also likes their pie.

+1 to Costco's apple pie (and their chocolate layer cake and pumpkin cheesecake)

Out of curiosity, how much are the pies at Costco?

Order a pie through Manna! Get a great apple pie and feel good about it! They have lots of pick up locations so there should be one that is convenient!

I like Costco's pie, but I'm not paying $50 to join just so I can buy one ;-)

Bakery House in Bryn Mawr makes a terrific apple pie that would please all.

Haha,...i would not spend $50 just to buy pie either, was thinking perhaps your sister or dad had a membership. Although I do think you can get a one time free pass to check it out--------no memory of what they cost since i don't live close anymore and don't go

Thanks to everybody for the responses. We got a great pie from the Le Bus outlet in King of Prussia, and they will be our go-to place from now on. But they only make them at holidays, so I'll also have to check out the Bakery House for other occasions.
