Tasting menus in Vancouver
I'm in the mood for a good tasting menu and it's been eons since I last did one. All I can come up with for choices are Lumiere, West, and Market.
Any other possibilities?
My perfect place would be Cioppino's but they don't seem to offer one (won't even do smaller pasta or risotto portions) and at the prices they charge I won't make a special request.
Although some seafood in the mix is fine my guest won't want a seafood only menu.
Obviously I'm thinking West Coast or European style with this one. Any other suggestions? If I had to choose from the above I'd probably go with West first and Lumiere second as I think the room is a little friendlier at West (it's been awhile since I peeked into Lumiere so it may be as nice..).

How about Divino on Commercial? (They had a winemaker's dinner tonight that reminded me). 7 courses - $95 with wine pairs.

re: fmed
We tried Kitsilano Daily Kitchen a couple of weeks ago and had a great experience. Six courses for $65 and focus is on local ingredients. The food and service are more casual than West but then so is the price. There was a pretty good review by Stainsby in the Van Sun last week as well

re: abondance
I knew you guys would come up with other places! KDK is a good choice as is La Buca (and I wonder if Pied a Terre does one?- no sign of either on their web sites).
I walked by Le Crocodile yesterday and they have a menu degustation but it isn't quite what I want. Good value at $75. though.
I'd planned to book for this weekend but it's been bumped to the first weekend in December. I hope party season (whatever that will look like this year!) doesn't cause a problem.
At least I have time to see who else has interesting choices.-----

I'm pretty sure Le Crocodile has something for old school French.
'C' definitely has one as well as does Raincity Grill, but I'm not sure I would recommend it over any of the others.
- Diva at the Met?
- Le Gavroche?-----
