Has anyone been on this site yet? Sounds great/ interesting in theory especially the price points!

    He'll do well with it (for a while, at least) because everyone is expecting Alinea with an approachable price point.

        The concept of themed meals was lifted from Heston Blumenthal. Not that innovative.

          Human beings being innovative and creative is nothing new. We've been doing it from the beginning. What I like is that Ackatz isn't willing for his last mongo success to be the basis of his future. He's experimenting, innovating and creating. And it doesn't matter that someone else did something similar in the past.

            I'm not criticizing, it's just that credit should be given where appropriate. There are probably people who aren't familiar with what Blumenthal's been doing lately and he certainly deserves some credit for his own innovation. He didn't invent "historical dining" either but he's been running a wonderful series of programs researching and presenting historical menus and trends. No doubt Achatz is familiar and was inspired. It doesn't detract from what he's doing with it to mention that it's an offshoot of someone else's work.

        Can't believe this is "new news" to people - it was named "Restaurant of the Year" for 2010 by epicurious and it hasn't even opened. :-)

        Hype is high.

          Didn't say it was " New" news but I didn't see a thread on here so I started one. ;-) This and Haymarket are my two most highly anticipated places right now..

            I'm fairly excited by Next, but even more excited by Aviary. I don't know if someone is already doing the kinds of things they are trying to do there, but it's certainly new to me.
