Any new choices for private dining?

Hey All,

Looked at some of the previous threads and wondering if anyone knows of a new or still exciting option for private room or group dining for 25. Not overly ethnic (Sushi, Indian etc.) as have to appeal to the lowest common denominator for a work function. Looking for $40 or under excluding Tax, Tip, Drinks for a 3 course set menu. Somewhere central (downtown or uptown) but would prefer to stay out of financial district or other areas with excessive parking fees.

  1. Repeating myself: Le Select has two private rooms and hits those prices. Steak frites is pretty accessible.

Likely it is one of the few places that would fit this request, but I don't think you can do three courses, drinks, tax and tip for $40 pp.

The OP says "excluding tax, etc"

Oh my mistake! You are correct. :-)

This is a totally different option, but what about Negroni? You could probably book out the entire place with 25 people and have the soup of the day, a green salad, risotto or pasta entrees and a flourless chocolate cake or house-made gelato for under $40 pp, before drinks, taxes and tip. I very nearly booked a brunch there for a group of 30 and the owner was quite willing to work with me. A relative of mine offered her home instead as a venue and I accepted, as there are babies and pets involved, and it made it easier to organize.

There is street parking, as well as a small lot across the street. It's close to TTC and is quite centrally located.
