Local produce JFX Market

I've been to the market here a couple of times and really enjoy it.Got some great pickels and awesome bacon. However when it comes to produce I'm at a bit of a loss as to what's local. Saw lots of brocolli and spinach, etc but wonder if this is just shipped in from other places. Don't want to pay $$$ for what I can get at the Giant for cheaper. Any recs on stands that grow most of there own produce.Obviously it depends on what's in season now.

I am a vendor at the market and have been battling this for years.....the best way to insure the produce is being grown by the farmer is to know your farmer .....go to the farm.....

It is currently the peak of season for local broccoli. Local greens are also in season, thought spinach may be grown in high tunnels or in greenhouses as the weather cools. So seeing lot of it is not a bad sign.

I'm not going to say that it has never happened, but with a very fex exceptions the JFX market is producer only. Vendors caught selling product that they didn't grow would be banned from the market. There are some exceptions --- around Thanksgiving you can see some of the produce vendors (I assume with permission) selling oranges and lemons which they obviously didn't grow, but for the most part it's growers selling their own produce.
