well i finally went last night, and i have to say, the feel is very similar to victory 44, cozy dining area with a central bar, and partially exposed kitchen, although the dj? might have ruined it for me
the music was all over the place without a rhyme or reason, and the eq skills werent the greatest, but it got better after he left, but it was pretty loud stillon to the food
i had the stanley burger, which is about a half pound angus burger stuffed with.... not cheese but brisket! with caramelized onions served with fries and a few pickle slicesit was a pretty juicy burger which dripped all over my plate, the caramelized onions gave a nice sweet taste that i could not help enjoying, but the taste of the brisket was far subdued i think, it just wasnt there, nice concept, but could have been handled better, something extra to contrast the different styles of prepared meat would have been nice, the pickles were pretty good i think, almost done in house, but i dont know for sure as i failed to ask, but the fries were over cooked a little, probably a minute too long, as they were browned like i like my hash browns in the morning, they werent too bad, but overcooked
overall i give it a B, it was pretty quiet when i went but i think i will try it again in the near future

re: wannabfat
I have driven past the place several times, but I kind of wrote it off as just another "sports bar." But that brisket-filled burger may suggest they're going for more.
I'm not sure it's enough to bring me in yet, but I'll be more keenly looking for other appraisals. Thanks for this review!

it is a tavern with food. considering that i think they do a good job. i had the hanger steak and a wedge salad. both were very good.for the salad they roast the tomatoes and then chill them before serving, a good solution to the problem of winter. on another day i had the brisket breakfast fajitas also good and rather inventive for a tavern breakfast.
